Sony has officially launched their latest iteration of the Xperia series - the Sony Xperia 5 IV - 5G. The phone, which features a 6.1" FHD+ 120 hz OLED display also has HDR enhancement and is protected by a sheet of Gorilla glass Victus. The phone, unlike other modern flagships, does not come with a notch for the front camera and instead has a small bezel where the 12MP 4k capable camera and its sensors sit. The other camera options on this phone include a 24mm equivalent sensor 1/1.7", a 60 mm equivalent telephoto camera and a 124 degree ultra wide camera of which all three are of 12 megapixels. With the exception of the ultra wide, the other two have OIS stabilization and dual pixel PDAF and Zeiss optics. Sony has gone big with its new Xperia Pro - I , the phone, equipped with a 1" sensor is currently one of the largest smartphone sensors around and thus it can practically compete against pretty much any smartphone or compact camera around. The phone, based of a familiar Xperia design philosophy, has a no notch - 6.5" 3840x1664 OLED display with HDR10 and 120 hz refresh rate, the front - protected by a sheet of Gorilla glass victus - also houses a 8MP front camera with Gyro-EIS. Sony has officially launched their latest iteration of the Alpha A7 - the A7 IV (Mk4), the new camera, announced as a successor to the A7III from a few years back brings many improvements such as improved autofocus,4K in 60fps, a fully articulating screen and a new sensor that comes close to the first gen A7R in terms of megapixels.   Sony has announced their latest E-Mount equipped  - vlogger centric ZV-E10 Interchangeable mirrorless camera. The new model, which is sort of a successor to the A5000 series in some sorts and a cut down A6xxx series camera offers a flip out LCD screen, a front record light, a lens zoom button (for compatible lenses - PZ) and a hotshoe mount with compatibility with Sony flashes and microphones for audio. This being a video oriented camera, does mean that the EVF is no longer available and you would therefore have to make do with the 3" rear screen which is fully articulating. The camera which packs a 24MP APSC sensor with 11 fps lacks IBIS, but is equivalent to a A6100 in e performance but has 4K30/24 fps and has sLOGand HLG profiles as well - the 4K 24 mode does not have any cropping, but the 4K 30 does have a slight crop of 1.23x and the camera can do slow-motion at 120fps (1080p). Sony has announced their latest true wireless earbuds - the Sony WF-1000XM4. The new version - a "mark4" variant has improved on the outgoing model and uses a more advanced Sony V1 chip for better audio quality and process LDAC codec data which offers high-res audio with better audio compression than a typical bluetooth steam. The pair also features more advanced noise cancellation, redesigned drivers with larger magnets as well as support for  Alexa and Google assistant as well . The USB-C equipped case offers QI wireless charging and charges the buds for a 60 minute playback time in 5 minutes, the earbuds alone last 8 hours playback with Noise Cancellation turned on and 24 hours of total playback when charged via the case. If you have a video production house or better yet $10,000 burning a hole in your pocket, then Sony has an answer in the form of its Airpeak S1 Professional drone. The drone - built around carrying mirrorless cameras such as Sony's Alpha 1, FX3 and the A9 and A7 series cameras offers 22 minutes of fly-time and move at 90 km/h and stay stable even in windspeed of 20 m/s . this is achieved by a suite of flight control systems and 17" brushless propellers giving power variably according to the situation. The drone also contains a gimbal which cradles the camera and set focus or zoom if required(via any compatible PZ lenses). The drone features an Android or iOS app named "air peak" and allows control of the Drone , the Gimbal and the camera separately.The drone will be available in the fall of 2021 and is said to be manufactured in Japan. Sony is said to announce an "affordable" small screen smartphone to its Xperia lineup. The device - named Xperia Ace 2, is said to be powered by a Mediatek Helio MT6765 chipset and consist of 4GB of RAM. The base storage is said to be 64GB and the display is also rumored to be in the 5" range with a somewhat low 1496x720 resolution. The phone is said to to be available as an affordable - non 5G smartphone for Japanese carriers (possibly not outside Japan) and is expected to retail for around JPY 48600. Source - GSMarena - 

Sony A6600 (Placeholder)  According to new rumors, Sony is preparing to launch a new "Pro" APS-C Camera with features aimed at Professional APS-C photographers. Although rumors of such a device existed for quite some time, and the definition of "Pro" is not quite clear, the new camera - at least according to Tony Northrup is said to bring features aimed at wildlife and sport segments where a high burst rate and a decent amount of megapixels - 30 in this case is adequate for most instances. Sony has officially announced the new FS5 II , Building upon the foundation laid by the Sony FS5 , the new camera features incremental improvements such as a new color science , Instant HDR and dual card slots, while keeping the core FS5 features mostly intact. The new FS5 II at first glance, looks quite similar to the older model, the camera features a Bayonet style camcorder layout with top handle accessories and a rear EVF , although it looks similar to the older model externally , the camera does pack some improvements in the sensor department as the new module is tuned for high frame-rate recording to an external recorder , therefore the FS5 II can output DCI 4K RAW in 60fps and shoot 4K RAW at 120fps for a short sequence , the camera is also capable of shooting 2K RAW at 240fps. Sony has officially launched their latest flagship duo for 2018 - Xperia XZ2 and the Xperia XZ Compact . The two phones , which are said to take “the best of Sony” ,feature an all new design aesthetic and thus departs from Sony’s blocky designs which were first seen on the original Xperia Z from 2011 , the new designs, which has a somewhat of a HTC U11 vibe to it ,features a curved back , thinner bezels and no headphone jack (hmm) . Sony has officially released a new zoom lens for their APS-C E-Mount cameras . The new 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 features Sony’s Optical Steady Shot (OSS) as well as a quiet linear motor for silent AF . The lens ,designed for cameras such as the A6000/6300/6500 and possibly a future A5xxx successor will give an equivalent focus range of 27-202.5mm (35mm eqv) . Sony has so far built up a solid smartphone portfolio since the arrival of the Xperia Z in 2013 . The new phones , which still continue on the same DNA of waterproof candybar designs has so far evolved into 8 generations(Z ,Z1,Z2,Z3,Z4,Z5,XZ,XZ,XZpremuim and XZs) and is apparently set to be succeeded by the next generation of Sony Smartphones which will be unveiled at IFA 2017 . The rumored phones ,Named - Xperia ZX1 (series) are said to feature 4.6" display and a 5.2" display and a larger edge to edge 6" display will be launched along with some of the latest Snapdragon 835 and 660 series processors . Sony has a giant lineup of professional  cameras in their arsenal , the range , which includes the flagship CineAlta series .is apparently set to get even bigger thanks to Sony's recent announcement of a Full frame cinema camera 36x24mm) in  2018 . The camera ,(which would fit into the F5/F65 range)  will be able to record content  in the 4:3 aspect ratio 4k and anamorphic  or 17:9 in 3 -pref (Super 35 mode) means that the upcoming FF cinema camera will suit most filming conditions (especially when using external super 35 lenses) .
