Prototype LG Nexus 5 appears in a 7 minute video with a early build of Android 4.4/5.0

After letting us catch a glimpse of Android 4.4 KitKat and some of its new features a couple of days back, Google Nexus 5 made another unofficial appearance. This time around the upcoming LG-made smartphone left nothing to imagination by starring in an extensive, seven-minute long hands-on video. The device in the video above is likely an early prototype, as it sports a “not for sale” sign, as well as lacks the large, landscape-oriented Nexus logo we’ve seen in previous leaks. The Android version on it is dubbed Key Lime Pie, so it further suggests the pre-production nature of the smartphone. Furthermore, the upcoming Nexus 5 got caught in the Global Certification Forum database, sporting category 4 LTE connectivity which will allow the handset to reach network speeds of up to 150Mbps. This particular capability will help the Nexus 5 make a case for itself in Korea, where LTE-A networks are all the rage these days. The official announcement of the Nexus 5 is imminent. Android 5.0 concept video

For the longest time, the Android community seemed fixated around the idea of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and all the amazing changes it was rumored to be bringing to Google’s OS. Fast-forwarding to today, we now know that the next version of Android will actually be 4.4 Kit Kat, but that’s not stopping some folks from still dreaming about the future of Android. In a new concept video by a fellow named Craig Tuttle, we get a glimpse at one man’s vision for Android 5.0, and we have to admit his ideas are pretty cool. The video primarily focuses on bringing deeper Google Now cards integration, including introducing several changes to the notification bar. You will also notice that the concept video shows a new opaque white look, as opposed to the more traditional Android blue colors we know and love today. Finally, the video also mentions multi-tasking stacks, which look absolutely amazing. Okay – so everything seen in the video is essentially made up (or based on rumors), but we sti...

With the 2013 Google I/O event closing in fast , the rumors for the next version of android is starting to rise , Although we are no sure whether Google will call it Android 4.3 or 5.0 we are very certain that it is going to be under the delicious codename "Key Lime Pie " . A website called Phoronix speculates that it may be too early to release a Key Lime Pie OS based on Linux 3.8 given that Android 5.0 is expected to be unveiled in less than three months from now at Google's I/O event ,but while “the work is labeled as ‘experimental,’” it seems “to be evolving fast,” which sounds interesting, although we have no way of confirming what Key Lime Pie will be based on at this time. Jelly Bean is based on Linux 3.0 kernel, with Google also maintaining other versions including 3.3 and 3.4, with Android 4.2.2  for Nexus 4 based on the latter. The same source details some of the improvements in Linux 3.8 kernel (see second Source link below) including “Samsung Exynos DRM a...
