Godox has unveiled their latest professional grade flash head and power pack system. The unit, named the P2400 Pro also sells under the Flashpoint brand as well. The unit - aimed at offering a more cost effective solution when compared to other solutions by brands such as Profoto offers a 0.7 recycle time and the ability to 1/17,800 flash duration for excellent freezing of subjects. The unit allows power to be set at 1//10 f stops and offers a total of 512 power ranges. The flash system head features a 60W modeling lamp as well as the now standard Bowens mount for mounting different diffusion adapters to the front. The unit supports Godox wireless trigger systems and uses either 2.4Ghz or 433 Mhz systems or even support sync via cable as well.  Pricing for the unit is not confirmed as of yet, but many sources point to a $4500+ price range which puts it on the pricy side when compared to similar units by brands such as Elinchrom but is significantly cheaper than more high end soluti...

Godox - a company that has built a solid reputation for providing value for money lighting equipment has introduced a new product for smartphone photographers - a speedlight+beauty lamp for your phone ! Say hello to the Godox A1 , the unit , designed to provide a pocket flash option (similar to how the AD200 started to make waves in the photographic community ) to smartphone owners who are limited by the mediocre flash available on smartphones .  The units specs , which at the time has still not been released , is expected to  connect via Bluetooth  low energy and possibly work through  its own Apple and Android Godox client app (with manual controls including exposure settings) or possibly through third party apps (adobe lightroom maybe?) as the native camera app may not feature controls for manual  settings in iOS and some Android phones . Well , well , it looks like another one is ready to bite the dust !,this time it is a 94 year old lighting company called - Bowens   - yes that Bowens , the world famous photography lighting accessory maker from the U.K . With humble beginnings in 1923 , Bowens opened shop as a Camera service company and later as an international camera equipment manufacturer (starting with flash bulbs) . The company quickly gained reputation among the photographic elite for providing dependable and powerful flash and compact flash systems for studio and on site applications (Their portable power generator solutions probably got the ball rolling for them)  .  Although their flash solutions were still superior to most of the competition and was still the first choice for many , the company was apparently acquired by an European firm called AURELIUS in 2016 , and this year , the parent company is apparently planning a new strategy without Bowens in it .
