One of the most debated Samsung Galaxy S4 stories preceding the official unveiling was the one related to the processor or processors powering the “next big thing”.
Some sources told us the S4 was going to come in a single Exynos 5 Octa-based version, others that there will be a Snapdragon 600 model too, while a few even said the Snapdragon variant was going to be the only one.
And then Sammy made the 5-incher official, but for some reason decided to keep part of the mystery going. Two GS4 versions were announced, but nothing about the splitting of the world was mentioned, so we were left guessing.
Naturally, we thought Sammy would be employing the same strategy used on the S3, meaning North America was to get the Snapdragon GS4, while the rest of the world was in for the Exynos treat. It would have made perfect sense, only it won’t happen that way.
Instead, most likely to make sure there won’t be any supply shortages, Samsung will be launching the Qualcomm version in many countries outside America. We already heard word about Sweden, Denmark and UK, but, according to Sam Mobile, the list of countries to get the GT-I9505 includes all the following:
(Qualcomm S4)
Austria
Baltic nations
Belgium
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bulgaria
Cyprus
Czech Republic
France
Germany
Greece
Italy
Luxemburg
Macedonia
Nordic countries
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Switzerland
The Netherlands
United Kingdom
Hong Kong
Korea
Malaysia
Philippines
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
United Arab Emirates
Australia
Out of the bunch, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, UK, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are slated to get both versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Meanwhile, the countries where only the Exynos model (GT-I9500) is headed are these:
Russia
Ukraine
Afghanistan
Algeria
Egypt
Kenya
Libya
Morocco
Nigeria
Bangladesh
China
India
Indonesia
Iran
Iraq
Kazahstan
Nepal
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
Taiwan
Thailand
Turkey
Uzbekistan
Vietnam
Also, while we wouldn’t rule out anything at this point, we still think the US and Canada are to get only the Snapdragon 600-based model.
there’s the whole battery debate, with some claiming the Exynos 5 Octa CPU will in fact drain more juice faster than the Snapdragon. All things considered, are you going to be annoyed with Samsung if the above lists prove legit?
