CES 2014 - ZTE's new lineup

ZTE is set to grab some serious attention this year at CES, announcing five new Android phones and the company’s very first smartwatch – the ZTE BlueWatch. The announcement from ZTE is more of a tease for what’s to come at CES, but we were given a few details regarding the features that ZTE’s new devices will offer.

Grand S2
ZTE Grand S II Listed as ZTE’s latest high-end Android phone, the ZTE Grand S II is the first device to offer ZTE’s very own voice control technology, enabling voice recognition unlocking and “voice-to-phone photography.” ZTE did note that the grand S II will feature triple-MIC noise reduction for improved voice calling, but they failed to mention the size of the display and processor.

Nubia 5S mini
ZTE nubia 5S and nubia 5S mini Both devices come with “screaming-fast” quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and “professional-grade” camera hardware. The ZTE nubia 5S is highlighted with a 5-inch Sharp 1080p FHD display, 13 megapixel camera with a Sony RS sensor and 4K video capture. The ZTE nubia 5S mini is slightly smaller with a 4.7-inch Sharp IGZO display and hopes to capture the hearts of consumers with its vast array of color options.

ZTE Iconic Phablet Powered by a dual-core processor, ZTE’s phablet (isn’t it nice that the word in now official?) sports a 5.7-inch HD display protected with Gorilla Glass, wireless charging, multi-windows support and Dolby Digital Sound.

ZTE BlueWatch Like many other smartphone makers, ZTE is also testing out the wearables market by introducing a smartwatch, which acts as a pedometer, remote camera controller, caller ID and access to Facebook and Twitter. Androidandme

HTC One to sell as TD 101 at China Mobile

HTC decided to invest in such a brand by launching the One series of smartphones last year, although the company was not able to impose its own product names to certain carriers. Then, just a few days ago, the company launched the HTC One, which is going to be the company’s only One-branded handset this year, a make-or-break kind of project for the Taiwanese Android maker that’s still having a tough time fighting against the competition, especially Samsung. We were under the impression that HTC will further invest in its One brand and not budge to carrier demands anymore when it comes to changing the name of the product – in the U.S., AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are going to sell it as the HTC One. But it looks like things aren’t necessarily so, and no, it’s not Verizon that’s going to get its way selling the One as the Droid DNA Plus, as it was recently rumored. We’re looking at China Mobile this time around, which has announced the HTC One as the HTC TD 101. That’s certa...
