MWC 2014 - HP ElitePad 1000 G2

In addition to the ProPad 600 introduced today, HP has rolled out the red carpet for its 'total business solution' slate, the HP ElitePad 1000 G2. With the ElitePad 1000 comes a svelte design at 9.2mm thin and 1.5lbs, as well as Windows 8.1 Pro and options for enterprise users.

The HP ElitePad 1000 features a 10.1-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and resolution of 1920 x 1200. Under the hood lies an Intel Atom Bay Trail-T Z3795 quad-core 1.6GHz processor and integrated Intel HD Graphics, all of it accompanied by 4GB of memory and either 64GB or 128GB of storage.

The tablet features extensive wireless connectivity, including 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4 + LE. There's support for the HP ElitePad Docking Station, a 2-cell/30WHr HP Long Life battery (battery run time not specified), and an expansion slot for SDXC cards up to 2TB. A variety of accessories will also be available for the ElitePad, such as an expansion jacket with battery.

Rounding it all out is high-definition audio with DTS Sound+, a couple of built-in stereo speakers, as well as two integrated microphones, and a combination 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors include an ambient light sensor, a gyroscope, haptics, eCompass, and an accelerometer. The HP ElitePad will be available next month for $739 USD.SlashGear

iPad (2022) and iPad Pro with M2 announced

Apple has announced their latest iteration of the iPad (entry level model) and the iPad Pro lineup with the new M2 processor. The event, held on the 18th of October as a recorded session displayed the key features of the iPads with the most significant being the base model iPad which has now received an upgrade. iPad 2022 This model of the base model iPad ditches the almost 12 year old home button and display layout and goes for a cleaner display only design found on the iPad Air .
