MasHD Autonews - BMW and Toyota make plans for the replacement of the Z4

Determined to make pretty babies , Toyota and BMW have renewed their alliance vows for the production of the next BMW z4 replacement .Toyota , which has been a pioneer at starting the hybrid generation is lending its technical know-how to develop a advanced powertrain for the BMW with the use of Supercapacitors. Although the term sounds a bit new to the world of production cars , the technology is already at work in Formula 1  , Both BMW and Toyota had working concept cars with this technology in the past , But Toyota of course has the upper hand when it comes to battery powertrain technology .Last year , Toyota showed off the concept Yaris R which had a whooping 414Bhp thanks to a coupling between a 300 Bhp engine and 2 electric motors powering the rear wheels. they also had the Toyota Le Mans LMP1 project and the Toyota Supra FT-1 concept, which according to many , will be quite similar to the next Z4 .

Selecting Toyota to design the system is probably a good choice for the German car giant .  Supercapacitor technology generally offer about 10 times more power-density than their lithium ion counterparts and they can also absorb and release bursts of  short term kinetic energy to give a performance boost . The engine of the upcoming BMW is said to have a 2L capacity and it will be front mounted just like the Toyota FT-1 and it will  be coupled with Toyota's battery technology giving more power off the line. The BMW however will be all wheel drive while its brother from another mother will be rear wheel drive only , other specs in the BM include a sequential manual gearbox and a Toyota designed -electronic torque vectoring system .Other details about the upcoming car are not revealed yet , but the latest technology venture by two automotive giants will surely cement their partnership for their next cars to come .

HTC One to sell as TD 101 at China Mobile

HTC decided to invest in such a brand by launching the One series of smartphones last year, although the company was not able to impose its own product names to certain carriers. Then, just a few days ago, the company launched the HTC One, which is going to be the company’s only One-branded handset this year, a make-or-break kind of project for the Taiwanese Android maker that’s still having a tough time fighting against the competition, especially Samsung. We were under the impression that HTC will further invest in its One brand and not budge to carrier demands anymore when it comes to changing the name of the product – in the U.S., AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are going to sell it as the HTC One. But it looks like things aren’t necessarily so, and no, it’s not Verizon that’s going to get its way selling the One as the Droid DNA Plus, as it was recently rumored. We’re looking at China Mobile this time around, which has announced the HTC One as the HTC TD 101. That’s certa...
