Asus Padfone S goes on sale in Malaysia - costs $275 for the phone part

Launching products on time has never been a strong point for ASUS . The company ,which is famous for making motherboards , ROG laptops and budget tablets started to design some out of the box devices but rarely do we get to see them , the Asus Padfone , which is basically a Phone that can be docked into a tablet has gone through 3 generations and the Padfone S is considered to be Asus' flagship phone for this season . The Padfone S was anounced earlier this year and was officially available in selected markets for some time . The phone part of the Padfone features a Snapdragon 801 chipset , a 1080p display and a 13 mp camera which means that you would expect to pay a pretty penny for this , but as it turns out , the Padfone S (Phone part ) is set for $275 which makes it a bargain of the century , the specs on board rival many other smartphones such as the One M8 and the GS5 and Xperia Z2 which cost more than the Padfone S + the optional tablet part put together . The tablet dock , which also has a 10" 1080p display acts as a large secondary screen to the phone when docked and its internal battery charges the phone if the battery is low , the tablet part costs just $152 and the combined price is said to be $427 (RM1398) .
