Sony to launch Xperia Z4 as Z3+ ?

Sony recently announced a Snapdragon 810 powered Xperia Z4 for the Japanese market , the phone , which is almost a mirror image of the Xperia Z2 and Z3 was also said to go live in markets outside Japan , but apparently Sony , after a few possible high level business talks are possibly going to name the device as the Xperia Z3+ rather than the Z4  due to its incremental design updates over the older generation designs  . The Xperia Z3 - a phone praised for being one of the best Sony xperia devices yet -was launched last year with a almost staple 20.7 mp rear sensor , water resistance , 3GB ram a 5.2" 1080p display and a SD card slot  , but the new revision only improved on some minor details including the removal of the magnetic charger  and the removal of the side dust cover which is now substituted by a exposed microUSB port in order to achieve a even thinner design . The Z4(z3+)  also has a 5mp front camera - a improvement over the older generations but is a...

Some Nexus 7's and Nexus 5's get bricked after being updated to Android 5.1

Google's Nexus devices have a front row seat when it comes to Android updates , the new Motorola Nexus 6 is probably the first in line , but as with Googles update policy , older hardware will get some of the sweet new software to taste soon after , but sometimes that sweet software can lead to painful problems as some Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 owners have found out the hard way . The new update , which is the version  issued to Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 5 devices are supposedly affecting some units in a bad way by bricking them , the NExus 7 is said to be the hardest hit , some of the many bricked units suddenly turn off and when powered back on the display doesn't progress beyond the boot logo , the bug supposedly affects all versions of the Nexus 7 and it doesnt matter where the tablet was rooted or not . Hopefully Google will address the issue while most of us casual users still wait for the first version of Lollipop arrive Source - Slashgear

The LG G Pad 8.3 - a Snapdragon 600 equipped 8.3" tablet is only available as a Wifi model and therefore the update is just 203MB . The HTC One M8 on the other hand gets a update of about 244MB which can be installed over the air , The Android 5.1 update is said to feature new security updates including several bug fixes , but due to its close launch cycle , many manufacturers who apply custom skins on devices are slow to dish out updates (even to Android 5.0) and therefore owners who buy either a Nexus device or a GPE device are probably one of the lucky few to get it without going for the rooting option .
