Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge - what we know so far (latest leaks)

The rumor train is streaming through at a all time high , on one side we have the LG G5 leaks and the new leaks about the HTC M10 ,but when it comes to rumor hype , the upcoming Samsung flagships beat them all as the S7 SM G930 and the S7 Edge SM G935 are said to continue Samsung's winning recipe this year as well .The Upcoming S7 and S7 edge are basically successors to the s6 and s6 edge launched last year , apart from a few cosmetic changes , the handsets look somewhat similar to its predecessors , but thats where the similarities end - the new S7 handsets feature all new hardware components as well as a new camera , bigger battery and even a sd card slot and water resistance , overall the S7 will be the killer smartphone everyone is waiting for , but now let us look at whats on the rumor table upto now .

DISPLAY

Samsung will be serving its staple QHD 2560x1440 resolution SAmoled dish this time as well ,but unlike the previous generation the smaller standard S7 will come in a 5.1" display size and feature a flatter display while the S7 Edge version will feature a two sided curve and a 5.5" display size . Both displays will be protected by the latest version of Gorilla Glass 4? 5? (No one knows) and same will go for the rear which is also made of the same glass material .Samsung will also introduce a haptic feedback mechanism aka -force touch (a-la iphone 6s) into the mix as well) , Samsung will also be running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with a cleaner version of Touchwiz UX

HARDWARE

When it comes to hardware , Samsung's S series packs the latest and greatest , and in the case of the 2 S7s the same can be said as it will pack both the Snapdragon 820 Soc and the Exynos 8890 Soc , Asian and some European versions of the S7 and S7 edge will most likely pack the Exynos 8890 Soc - a octa core processor clocked to around 1.6 Ghz , this is said to have a slight edge over the S820 processor which will certainly be used in the American and Chinese And some European LTE versions of the handset .

Samsug is also said to include 4GB of LPDDR4 Ram with both versions of the handset , this is 1GB up from the 3GB found on the older S6 variants but is similar to the count on the Note 5 , Internal storage is said to be 32GB ,64GB or 128GB internal storage but due to customer demand , MicroSD cards are said to appear once again with the S7 .Considering that Android has a adoptable storage feature that lets you use SD cards as a part of the internal storage ,it will be benificial as you have the ability to expand storage at a relatively cheap cost . The rumored SD card option is said to be available on the same tray as the nano sim slot .

CAMERAS

Camera wise , Samsung is said to be taking a backseat approach to megapixels as the S7 and S7 Edge are said to feature 12Mp Britcell Sensors with f 1/7 aperture , megapixels are not everything and samsung hopes to prove it by making the camera one of the best -if not the best low light capturing smartphones out there .The sensor will still include OIS , 4K video recording and a smaller camera bump making the handset more flush with the handset , The phones are also said to include 8mp front facing cameras for video calling or selfies .

DESIGN

The Chassis of the next Galaxy smartphones are said to be made of a stronger frame and rumor has it that a magnesium alloy but thats to be seen , the battery is still sealed inside the unibody chassis and a water and dust resistance IP rating is said to be available as well - this makes this the handset the second Samsung Galaxy S handset to recieve a water resistance rating which was omitted in the S6 lineup .MicroUSB 2.0 is said to be present in the new handset but USB C is also on the table

BATTERY

Samsung is also said to include Fast charging and wireless inductive charging for the S7 and S7 edge which will contain 3000 mAh (S7) and 3600 mAh (S7 Edge) promising a impressive 17 hours video playback

Samsung is said to take on the competition this year with the S7 and S7 edge , but with competition getting feirce , samsung will surely have to do some clever marketing and convincing to get previous S6 and S6 owners to jump aboard .As for rumors , we have pretty much seen the handset so we can assume that most of the rumors and leaks listed here will be present in the real deal as well .

Apple has announced their latest iteration of the iPad (entry level model) and the iPad Pro lineup with the new M2 processor.
