Nokia 8

Nokia (HMD) has officially announced the Nokia 8 flagship spec smartphone , the device , which has familiar Nokia design cues borrows some inspiration from the successful Nokia 6 which was launched earlier. Packed with up - to date hardware and a dual camera system and a decent price tag , the Nokia 8 is sure to win the hearts and minds of long lost fanboys(and new buyers alike) who craved a Nokia running Android .

Design
The design of the Nokia 8 is nothing groundbreaking , the candybar shape is basically scaled up from the Nokia 6 launched earlier this year (which in turn features Nokia's traditional design language which harks back to the Nokia N9 from yesteryear) . The design therefore features sharp corners and a no frills utilitarian finish which signals that this phone is built to last , and considering that the phone features IP54 dust and splash resistance and a unibody shell with a Gorilla glass 5 front , it kind of is .

Hardware

Packed with flagship hardware , the Nokia 8 aims to take on the current top dogs of the smartphone world . The display , which is a 5.2" 2560x1440p IPS LCD produces vivid colors and is protected by a sheet of 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5 , the display features a regular 16:9 aspect ratio .

Processing power for the Nokia 8 is provided by a 8 core Snapdragon 835 Soc clocked to 2.45Ghz , this chip also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with MicroSD expansion upto 256GB .

Camera spec's on the phone include dual cameras which is basically a trending topic for 2017 .
The dual 13MP sensors feature phase detection AF with a laser assisted AF module and dual tone flash ,1.12 micrometer pixel size ,  Carl Zeiss optics and a fixed f2.0 aperture for both sensors, the cameras however differ in one category - color  - the first unit , which is designed to capture color information features a traditional RGB panel while the second does not feature the Bayer color layer and instead features only monochrome . This allows the dual cameras to capture more information as monochrome captures richer detail and shades . Video recording on the Nokia 8 is 4K @30fps and 1080p @30fps . The front sensor is another 13MP unit , but it is limited to capturing only 2k resolution .

Other specs include a non removable  3090mAh battery with quick charge 3.0  , Nokia OZO audio enhancement (and a headphone jack) USB type C 3.1 . The phone comes in copper , polished blue , steel and tempered blue variants .

The Nokia 8 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with updates and security patches promised with every future iteration of Android

Pricing

Exact pricing details for specific regions are not available but the unit is expected to retail for EUR 600 , (US -709 ) and is expected to launch soon .

HTC One to sell as TD 101 at China Mobile

HTC decided to invest in such a brand by launching the One series of smartphones last year, although the company was not able to impose its own product names to certain carriers. Then, just a few days ago, the company launched the HTC One, which is going to be the company’s only One-branded handset this year, a make-or-break kind of project for the Taiwanese Android maker that’s still having a tough time fighting against the competition, especially Samsung. We were under the impression that HTC will further invest in its One brand and not budge to carrier demands anymore when it comes to changing the name of the product – in the U.S., AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are going to sell it as the HTC One. But it looks like things aren’t necessarily so, and no, it’s not Verizon that’s going to get its way selling the One as the Droid DNA Plus, as it was recently rumored. We’re looking at China Mobile this time around, which has announced the HTC One as the HTC TD 101. That’s certa...
