Honor 50 Series unveiled - Honor 50 SE, Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro unveiled

Honor has unveiled their latest smartphone series - the Honor 50 SE the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro. The company, started as an offshoot of Huawei, offers Google services with Android 11 out of the box as well as expandable storage, 108MP cameras and fast charging.

The Honor 50 SE as the name suggests is the cheapest model announced among the three, the phone offers a 6.78" 2388x1080 IPS LCD and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chipset with 8GB of RAM and has 128GB or 256GB storage onboard. The phone packs a 108MP main sensor and 8MP ultra wide and a 2MP macro sensor at the back and features gyro and EIS stabilization. The phone also comes with a 16MP front facing camera and has a 4000 mAh battery with 66W fast charging. Pricing is said to be CNY 2399 (Around $375).

The Honor 50 is the "midrange" model of the trio and has a larger 6.57" 2340x1080 OLED panel and a Snapdragon 778 5G doc with the same 8GB RAM 128/256GB storage options and has a 108MP main sensor and 8MP ultra wide and a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth at the back and features gyro and EIS stabilization. The phone also comes with a 32MP front facing camera and has a 4300 mAh battery with 66W fast charging.

The Honor 50 is probably the best spec'ed out of the trio as the name suggests, but it is basically similar to the regular Honor 50 sans the display and thus it packs a 6.72" 2676x1236 resolution OLED panel and has only one storage option of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The ticker inside the phone is a Snapdragon 778 5G Soc and this like the regular 50 has the same 108MP main sensor and 8MP ultra wide and a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth at the back but has a dual front setup with 12MP ultra wide and a 32MP wide sensor array for better selfies. The phone however has a smaller 4000mAh battery, but it makes up for that by having a 100W fast charging option. Pricing for the Honor 50 and 50 Pro will be released soon.

HTC One to sell as TD 101 at China Mobile

HTC decided to invest in such a brand by launching the One series of smartphones last year, although the company was not able to impose its own product names to certain carriers. Then, just a few days ago, the company launched the HTC One, which is going to be the company’s only One-branded handset this year, a make-or-break kind of project for the Taiwanese Android maker that’s still having a tough time fighting against the competition, especially Samsung. We were under the impression that HTC will further invest in its One brand and not budge to carrier demands anymore when it comes to changing the name of the product – in the U.S., AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are going to sell it as the HTC One. But it looks like things aren’t necessarily so, and no, it’s not Verizon that’s going to get its way selling the One as the Droid DNA Plus, as it was recently rumored. We’re looking at China Mobile this time around, which has announced the HTC One as the HTC TD 101. That’s certa...
