Huawei's new MatePad tablets bring Harmony OS with an iPad inspired theme

12.6 Pro

After being locked out from Google play services, Huawei's previous success in the smartphone market dropped dramatically, but all is not over for the Chinese Giant as they have been releasing a multitude of devices with Google services and apps replaced by alternatives and Huawei's own App Gallery store whilst brewing their own build of Android called Harmony OS which would eliminate the need of Google services altogether. The strategy, which is still in its infancy, allows Huawei to offer an "android" alternative and create their own ecosystem in the long run as Huawei will be offering their Harmony OS on multiple form factors and devices including tablets - of which three have been currently announced - the Matepad Pro 12.6 and 10.8 and the Matepad 11 .

12.6 Pro

The Matepad Pro 12.6 and the 10.8 as their names suggest - come with 12.6 inch and 10.8 inch screen sizes respectively. The Matepad 11 meanwhile has a 10.95" LCD display and all three have 2560x1600 resolution displays. The tablets also share a similar camera array with all having 8mp front cameras , 13mp main cameras (8mp ultrawide on the 12.6" pro) and support for a magnetically connected M-stylus.

10.8 Pro

Processor options for the models are said to be a Snapdragon 865 for the MatePad 11 with 6GB RAM and 64 or 128GB storage, whilst the 10.8 Pro receives a 8GB RAM option with 128GB or 256GB storage and the 12.6 pro featuring Huawei's own Kirin 900E chipset with 8GB RAM and 128 or 256GB storage. The three tablets feature support for storage expansion with the Matepad 11 featuring MicroSD and the Pro models featuring Nano memory slots.

10.8 Pro

The 10.8 Pro and the Matepad 11 share a common battery size of 7250 mAh while the larger model features a 10,050 mAh battery with 40W fast charging (Common to both pro models).

Software wise, the Huawei trio feature an almost iPad OS look-alike interface and design running on top of Harmony OS - which is built off Android 11 AOSP , therefore sideloading apk's is possible, and if you are willing to modify your tablets - even installing Google services will be possible, but that being said, it would be a better option to just get an Android Tablet instead if you already use these services.

Pricing is said to be EUR 799 for the 12.6 pro model and EUR 399 for the Matepad 11 model (10.8 Pro pricing is said to be available on a later date).

iPad (2022) and iPad Pro with M2 announced

Apple has announced their latest iteration of the iPad (entry level model) and the iPad Pro lineup with the new M2 processor. Nikon 850 gets leaked ......does the top feature a hybrid EVF?

Obtained by NikonRumors , these two leaked press images give us the first look into what the Nikon D850 actually looks like . TL:DR - Nikon D850 has a larger penta-prism buldge on top , and it no longer features a pop up flash . The bulge will feature connectivity options (Wifi ? Bluetooth and NFC? GPS?) rather than a hybrid EVF(as rumored by many) as locking up the mirror for on sensor detection is still in its infancy ) . Nikon will implement this technology in the future once the tech improves and costs drop down , but by that time they will just feature a Mirrorless lineup as well. The Vivo Y75s , powered by a helio G85 processor comes with 4GB of storage and has 64GB of internal storage and you can also get a 6GB Ram with 128GB storage as well.
