Yongnuo YN455 - A compact Android powered camera

Yongnuo is usually known for producing affordable camera gear - ranging from lenses to lights, but occasionally they do dip their toes into the lucrative camera market with models usually based around M4/3 (micro four thirds) sensors and mounts and a few have been released over the years, their latest model - the YN 455 is also another such attempt and now it has a more refined body and the power of Android 10 behind it.

First off, the new design of the 455 is certainly more appealing than previous attempts and follows a minimalistic design with the only exception being the flip ready 5" touchscreen display and a single shutter release button above it (it's so minimal that you don't even get a hotshoe mount)- but you do get  USB C ports - a mic and headphone port a small LED front flash and even a 4G ready Nano Sim port - which lets you geotag and share photos or even stream live in - camera thanks to Android.

The camera specs on this model consists of a 20MP M4/3 sensor with a MFT mount and can record 30fps UHD 4k to either the built in 64GB of storage or a MicroSD card via the expansion port. The camera - of lets say the phone , consists of a Snapdragon 660 SoC and has a 4400 mAh battery which can be charged on the go as well. Pricing starts at $600 for the body only model and you can also spec it with Yongnuo's 25mm f1.7  42.5mm f1.7 lens as well for about USD ~695 and ~730 which is not a bad deal for those lenses. Overall the YN455 seems to be heading in the right direction, but it's lack of "pro" features such as a swappable battery, hotshoe, direct ISO and other controls (instead of a touchscreen) might limit potential sales of an otherwise compact ILC.

HTC One to sell as TD 101 at China Mobile

HTC decided to invest in such a brand by launching the One series of smartphones last year, although the company was not able to impose its own product names to certain carriers. Then, just a few days ago, the company launched the HTC One, which is going to be the company’s only One-branded handset this year, a make-or-break kind of project for the Taiwanese Android maker that’s still having a tough time fighting against the competition, especially Samsung. We were under the impression that HTC will further invest in its One brand and not budge to carrier demands anymore when it comes to changing the name of the product – in the U.S., AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are going to sell it as the HTC One. But it looks like things aren’t necessarily so, and no, it’s not Verizon that’s going to get its way selling the One as the Droid DNA Plus, as it was recently rumored. We’re looking at China Mobile this time around, which has announced the HTC One as the HTC TD 101. That’s certa...
