IFA 2015 - Sony Xperia Z5 announced


Sony has officially unveiled the three new successors to the flagship Xperia Z lineup . The trio - the Xperia Z5  - a spiritual successor to the Z3+ , Xperia Z5 compact- a compact edition packing good hardware similar to flagship models and the Xperia Z5 Premium - a phone that is set to pack even more punch thanks to its high res screen (and high price tag)

The Sony Xperia Z5 looks just like its predecessor - the Xperia Z3+ ,Although the genetics in Sony's Omnibalence design didnt change much over the years ,the design has been improved and it now features a fingerprint reader which doubles as a power button . The unibody design , high IP ratings and the Xperia Z2'ish dual front speakers are once again present but we won't complain as the phone still is quite a looker .

 Inside the Xperia Z5 we have a new generation Snapdragon 810 , although Qualcomm refined the Snapdragon 810 many times over , there is still a bit of skepticism over how cool things will get when you really start pushing this bad boy to its limits . The Snapdragon 810 - clocked to a reasonable 1.5Ghz is possibly the most thermal efficient version of this 64bit octa core chip yet .The chip is backed up with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM . There is now a 32GB option at the base model which marks the end for the 16GB base model present in earlier generations . There is also a Sony stable 5.2" 1080p IPS display .

Sony has also been graceful in making its camera experience a lot better as the new phone features a 23MP rear camera - this new camera module is also another first for the Xperia series as all previous versions from the Z1 to the Z3+ were all stuck at 20.7 MP .The new model has a F2.0 Aperture a 24mm focal equivalence and 120fps on 720p and 4K video recording .The module can shoot 23MP in 4:3 and 20MP in 16:9 aspect ratio . a front facing 5 mp shooter is present on the Xperia Z5



Other specs in the Xperia Z5 include IP68 certification ,a Fingerprint scanner , NFC , MicroSD expansion  , Fast charging and a 2600 mAh non removable battery

Nikon 850 gets leaked ......does the top feature a hybrid EVF?

Obtained by NikonRumors , these two leaked press images give us the first look into what the Nikon D850 actually looks like . TL:DR - Nikon D850 has a larger penta-prism buldge on top , and it no longer features a pop up flash . The bulge will feature connectivity options (Wifi ? Bluetooth and NFC? GPS?) rather than a hybrid EVF(as rumored by many) as locking up the mirror for on sensor detection is still in its infancy ) . Nikon will implement this technology in the future once the tech improves and costs drop down  , but by that time they will just feature a Mirrorless lineup as well. Although the new D850 shares the same DNA as its predecessor ,The first leaked images show us that the buttons are now illuminated , this is great for all those "Astrographers" who struggle with finding which is which on the 810 series as backlighting was left out .
