Sigma has so far built up a good reputation among photogs and he video community for providing sharp , affordable lenses at half the price of the camera manufacturer's kit .The 24-70 f2.8 - a refresh to the older lens which was launched almost 6 years back (HSM) .
The new lens , which includes 19 elements in 14 groups which includes 3 (super low dispersion) elements has now been priced at $1299 , which puts it en par with Tamron's upcoming 24-70 G2 which will be announced soon .

The Sigma lenses are available on Canon EF , Nikon F and Sigma SA mounts and the 14mm is compatible with Sigma MC11 Smart adapter for Sony E mount as well.
